I have no tint in the front windshield nor the driver or passenger side. In georgia is it illegal to have tint and is it legal for a cop to give you a ticket if you didnt know that reguler tint was illegal in georgia ? I do have tint in my back windows but viewers from outside can still see clean through my car.The other day I was given a ticket for window tint?
"Ignorance of the law is no excuse" is something we are all taught in government/civics classes.
From the GA code: "...this Code section shall not apply to: (6) The rear windshield or the side or door windows, except those windows to the right and left of the driver of:(A) A multipurpose passenger vehicle." If tinting is legal on windshield, front sides then you should not have been ticketed.
The other day I was given a ticket for window tint?
It's not illegal for the officer to give you a ticket for a window tint violation. This is pretty common. The officer should have explained the violation of the particular law. It does not matter whether you know about the law or not, ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Side note: I know you said that you didn't have tint on your passenger side window, but police have the right to open a door, when they can't see through your passenger side window as well to see the driver.
Georgia Tint Law Enacted: 2005

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN GEORGIA?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). Not a judgment call, just how judges see it.

Since this isn't a serious offense, I doubt much will happen. Do you have the option of going to court for the ticket? I've never had a license, so I don't know if all tickets involve court or not. Anyway, if you can go to court, you could always just try explaining that you didn't realize all tint was illegal, especially one that wasn't that dark, but don't use it as a whiny "Take away the ticket" ploy, Tell the judge that you are getting or have already gotten it changed. If you've already changed it, even better I would think. Maybe the judge will toss it or lower the fine if you're that cooperative.

Who knows. That's my fault. I was in a parking lot and a local police cruiser pulled in. The young officer asked if I knew my tag was expired and I said yes. I told him I kept meaning to look up the local place to change tags, and he kindly made an offer: "Meet me in this parking lot at 1pm since I have to deliver a prisoner to the county jail, and the vehicle tag place is there. Just follow me and you'll get no ticket."

I think my polite attitude and admitting I knew it was expired had a lot to do with it.
Yes, the cops can give you a ticket for that (and pretty much anything....it will make your head spin)

Fortunately, I don't think the ticket for window tint will be very high but your going to have to pay it.

Georgia counties are strapped for cash. I really want to avoid tinting it if at all possible since it kind of defeats the purpose in a way. So my question is: "Is there any sort of clear "tint like" protective film that can be added to the window that will block out the harmful UV rays and still be crystal clear to see through?

Thanks!!Is there such a thing as a "clear window tint" that blocks and protects against UV rays?
We are biased but to be fair I will list the choices, but do your own homework!

FormulaOne Pinnacle film is light yet still reduces heat by factoring out IR check http://www.formulaone.com

Huper Optik Ceramic Film at http://www.huperoptikusa.com

Madico has a new film Winco , http://www.madico.com

Very light films in VLT yet more than 50% heat rejection and 99.9% UV for all the films above.
Last I checked yes and no. Try Lowe's for the house stuff and E-bay for the auto grade. Hope this helpsIs there such a thing as a "clear window tint" that blocks and protects against UV rays?
Yes. It works a lot like the polarization on sunglasses. You should be able to find it at your corner auto parts store. Many cars (especially those with very large windows like vans) already have UV protection on the windows.
Purchase some 50% window tint. It's BARELY noticeable, and will filter out most harmful UV rays. You could probably have a shop install some for under $20.Is there such a thing as a "clear window tint" that blocks and protects against UV rays?
Yes! While not completely clear, it would not obstruct your view in anyway! Your local car parts store should have it with the window tints and such! Im looking for something darker than 20% possibly 5% and they should be high quality as well. I live in brooklyn new york i wanna get them done at a local car shopSo i need a good car window tint that does not reduce my visibility too much no matter how dark the tints?
Your basically asking for something that does not exist. The whole point of tinting the windows is to keep light/viewing out. So the darker you go the harder it is to see at night. No matter what brand or who puts it on, 5% tint only lets 5% of the outside light in. It is very hard to back a car up at night with 5% tint when there are no lights around. So i need a good car window tint that does not reduce my visibility too much no matter how dark the tints?
I agree with the first answer. 5% will definitely reduce your visibility at night. The darkest tint that wont reduce your visibility would be 20%.window tinthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16715603822011412503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5287856163158412863.post-59417809514194128732012-01-19T05:18:00.005-08:002012-01-19T05:18:51.861-08:00Will the bubble in my window tint go away?I just had my windows tinted 20% today in my bmw. Tint it too dark and you can get hit with a fat ticket and made to remove it. Expensive. Additionally most cars have some tint from the factory and anything you add is cumulative. If your state says max 35% and you buy 35% tint you could be too dark. That's why I have mine done by tint shops that have to comply with the state regulations. In the long run it's cheaper. I've been looking it up but can't find anything. By the way I'm from new york where law is 70%.Is there a new nationwide car window tint law?
Nope. State by state.

There's no money in it for Washington to get involved. Yet.Is there a new nationwide car window tint law?
Many states do not allow front window tint at all ( Fl and Ca are 2). The reason is that police have been killed by people with guns behind the windows. In some states front tinted windows are a primary stop in others you have to be stopped for another offense before you will get a ticket.

If it was legal it would be offered as a popular factory option on new cars. I have never seen it driving by any new car lots.Is there a new nationwide car window tint law?
http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/

this site will break it down for you state by state. no nation wide law. this is why automobiles come from the factory with hardly any tint to the windows on most 4 door and 2 door models, only the back windows on 2 door cars and trucks come with factory tinting because some states allow no tint at all on the front windows.
No, states have the right to make their vehicle and driving laws that's why each state have different laws in these areas. It's common sense no need to look it up on the internet.window tinthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16715603822011412503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5287856163158412863.post-307931105380691052012-01-19T05:18:00.000-08:002012-01-19T05:18:02.202-08:00I have a car that window tint removed how do i remove the stickyness on the window?i have a 2000 dodge neon that had window tint removed and left sticky stuff on the back window. i would like to put new tint on it. how do i remove the residue?I have a car that window tint removed how do i remove the stickyness on the window?
Razor blade the best -fastest and easiet way, follow with a good cleaner like windex.
The window tint glue is water base. Use glass cleaner and a NEW single edge razor blade. Soak the window with the cleaner, wait about 30 seconds %26amp; scrape.I have a car that window tint removed how do i remove the stickyness on the window?
try krud off or goo be gone
there is a product in most stores that sell tint that is made for that,I have a car that window tint removed how do i remove the stickyness on the window?
If you're going to have the tint put in by professionals, thay'll clean it, If you're going to do a home-made job, then you can try WD-40.
Alcohol, or you can get a product called Gum Out (or something like that) at OfficeMax or Staples.
Try Nail Polish Remover
go to the hardware store and buy some adhesive cleaner...you probably don't need the heavy duty one's like goo gone. i would almost say to try vineger...that might work. but if not, just go buy a liquid adhesive cleaner. or using a new blade and water, clean it off.
GOO GONE by

Magic American Corporation

I think you can get it at the grocery store or hardware store.
Acetone will work. Don't get any on the interior though. Put some on a rag and then wipe it off,
I would try the products that are for this purpose. If you do use a razor blade, use a new one and DO NOT drag the blade backwards. ALWAYS forward. The reason is, dragging it backwards can cause any hard particals to scratch the glass as they are drug under the blade, where going in the forward direction "lift's" the particals up onto the blade. Soapy water also helps lubricate the blade and less chance of scratching.

Good luck!window tinthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16715603822011412503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5287856163158412863.post-42690953149210306822012-01-19T05:17:00.004-08:002012-01-19T05:17:51.141-08:00How do you tint a window with a frame? How do you tint a car's side window that has a frame?
