Take a hefty bag and some tape. Apply ammonia mixed with water using a sponge to the windows. Cover the wet glass with the bag and leave in the Sun for a few hours. Then take a razor (carefully) and start removing the residue. Use a scrubby pad to complete.

Even better take it to a pro who can steam it off and do it for a nominal cost. We are Tampa Window Tinting Advanced Film Solutions http://www.advancedfilmfl.com
Windex with ammonia in it will work. Straight ammonia will too. Just don't mix it with bleach.
Anyways, use windex, but make sure it has the ammonia. It should say towards the bottom of the bottle, "glass cleaner with ammonia" or similar. Store brands work just fine too. Have plenty of paper towels or rags and scrub away.
DO NOT USE A SCRAPER IF YOU HAVE A DEFROSTER (lines across the back window) as it can damage it.
And, Bubba, they don't magically stick with water. It's not static cling film. They spray "soapy water" or "slip solution" on the window and the film to wet the glue that's already on the tint film. This allows the film to slide so it doesn't look like popcorn.Does anyone know how to take window tint glue off a car window?
Glue for window tint? Last time I had my windows tinted, they stuck to the glass with water (at least that is what I observed when they were done). Soak the window with glass cleaner a section at a time. Using a very sharp razor blade scrape away. Repeat until done. Next, clean it with Invisi-glass- make sure you follow the instructions on the bottle).
I used both carburetor cleaner and "Citrus-solve" to remove the glue, elbow grease plus plenty of paper towels. If its been there for a while, it's going to be a major pain to remove the dried glue.Does anyone know how to take window tint glue off a car window?
Have you tried the ammonia yet? If that doesn't do it you need to go to an auto glass professional - if you try to scrape it off or use anything stronger you can bet the defroster will be damaged.
Alcohol might get it off, but paint thinner on a rag will for sure. Just be careful and keep it away from the interior parts. Razor blade will get a lot of it off before you start with anything else.
razor blade scraper will work faster and better than anything else
