Go to a photography shop and ask the photograhper to measure with a light gauge. You can buy a light gauge- Vivitar makes a cheap one. Compare outside to inside light. If the tink is too dark, you have to remove it and pay the "fixit" fine. Another thing you can do if you feel lucky is to go to the Highway Patrol office and have them check. If the tint is in fact legal, they can sign off your ticket and you can take that to court to prove your innocence. If the HIghway Patrol proves the tint is illegal, you can work on getting it off, then have the fixit ticket signed off and take that to court.How to figure out window tint percentage?
you can use a solar cell and a flashlight and a voltmeter
place the solarcell directly in front of the flashlight and use the voltmeter to get a reading of the voltage produced. this is 100% then place the solar cell on the side of the tinted window then place the flashlight in the other side of the window and read the voltage , that will tell you what percent tint it is.
