What is the lowest percentage of window tint that is legal?

ok, so i want to add window tint to my car to

A. make it look cooler :]

and because ppl stare at me when im just chillin there at the stop light :p

anyways, i live in austin tx, and i just want to know the lowest percentage i can get without getting a ticket and so that it can pass the yearly inspection. pleas and thank you!!!What is the lowest percentage of window tint that is legal?
Well 5% window tint is illegal everywhere and you should know that. When tinting your car windows don't worry about what is legal or not just get the tint that you want. I have 5% limo tint all around except the windshield of course and I love it. It makes the car look better overall and looks badass. I have driven with it for 3 years and cops have not said sh*t about it and even when I got pulled over for speeding cops never said anything about my tint. If you are going to tint then don't go lighter then 20%, 20% tint looks good and is dark but not as dark as 5%. If you go lighter then 20% then there is no point in tinting your windows and you shouldn't do it. It's going to cost $250 to tint all the windows and it will make your car look better. I would say get 5% limo tint because it looks badass and makes the car look better overall but if you are worried about getting pulled over then get 20% tint all around except the windshield of course. It's dark but people will still see your shadow but it still looks good. I agree I don't like when people are staring at me either and no one can see me with my 5% tint all around. What yearly inspection are you talking about? I live in Washington State and there is no yearly inspection. The only thing I have to do is take my car to emissions but my tint has nothing to do with that. So if you want complete privacy get 5% limo tint and I'm sure you will be ok but you can't go wrong with 20% tint either. Here is my car with 5% tint. I drive a 2000 Honda Prelude.

rk0 88 you dont get a ticket for your tinted windows because it is a two door car....the percentage does not matter in two door cars

in the uk i believe it is 25%
